Just a Simple Young Lady

I gotta say, lately I've been busier than I thought I'd be because of college, so I apologize for my inactivity XP I have NOT stopped to work on my drawings, though! So here's what I've been working on the past time. (lame random title is lame)

This is my sister's Avengers OC So last year, when that HUGE hype about the movie hit everywhere, it got to me and my sister as well! We've always loved Marvel and their heroes, although I admit I didn't know much about the Avengers altogether (more like individually) and neither have I read many of the comics, but we seriously enjoyed every last bit of it x33 took it a little further though (What am I saying? She's completely ADDICTED ) and secretly created this girl here behind my back some months ago. Lol To be honest, I don't really know every single thing about her; Most of her information/development is done/shown from RPs, and my sister haven't told me everything yet, so if you want to know more, you'll have to ask her. I know the basics

Anyways, her name is Karine Green, she's a young woman that lives by herself in a trailer in the outskirts of New York, and she does office work in a small company. She was out of town when that whole mess happen during the Avengers, and she was pretty confused when she came back to see the city destroyed XDD It's around one year after these events that her story actually begins, and then a bunch of tense things happen but I'm not sure if I'm authorized to tell them... And I don't wanna spoil everything either, so yeah xD But she's not a hero, she doesn't have any powers, she's pretty much normal.

So when my sister creates a human OC, I'm the one who designs/draws them, AS USUAL - But this time I didn't have to make her design from scratch. Marcella wanted me to base/inspire it on a CG art image she found and was using as avatar while she RPed, and while partially I was happy to have a reference and not come up with everything from my/her head, I wasn't much willing after I took a good look at it XD AJSJVHNFGSDHSVKSJJKDGFHGDJKJSDHJKFSDHKSDFHHSDJHSDFKGDJHGSDJGJHSSG that GODDAMN complicated hair!! @_@ She just COULDN'T have picked a simpler hairstyle, nooo... I had to doodle/sketch it a couple of times separately to train and get the hang of how it worked, although it's not EXACTLY identical to the one in the source image, of course. D: Despite the hard work it gave me to draw (that is until I did get the hang of it, it's a bit easier now), I think it's pretty unique. At least that she can say :3 Her eyes were somewhat troublesome for me to do too, because they were in a very detailed and fancy style, and though I used my own style for this drawing, my sister wanted it look similar to that >_> So I tried to make them the same overall shape, which is also rather different and particular. And EXTREME EYELASHES! xDD The iris itself is just my style, in the image they looked kinda yellowish, but I think it was because of the lighting... It gave an interesting effect, but I didn't want her eyes to look TOO yellow, and I didn't know how to translate that effect in my coloring without compromising the light brown, so I just left it that way Lol Her facial structure, nose and mouth (with a very light lipstick :3) were also slightly referenced from the image, I hope there's not much wrong with that... I did a simple pose for this one because I was lazy I had no other ideas and it was supposed to be a basic picture, just to give a little impression of her personality and all, so yeah XP I tried to fix some anatomy mistakes I did on paper, but I still think it looks kinda "off"... Maybe her lower body, ugh D: By the way, you know how I said in the last drawing I posted (that request), that I had been training how to draw the knees better, after I saw a tutorial/guide on Tumblr? Well, this and the other drawing I made of Karine was where I trained. It's not very noticeable because of her pants, but here along with that request, I hope they're looking a little better o3o At least in all my latest drawings past this it's how I've been doing knees. And to finish off, her feet somehow gave me a lot of trouble too

Her outfit was decided by my sister of course, but while she didn't tell me I ended up thinking up one in my head I actually did it in another drawing, I may color it sometime soon... Either way, she already had the colors in mind, and she did some doodles of her own so I could pick them for here, but I adapted those a little. The green of her sweater was the same, but I fiddled with the black of the pants, and I always imagined her boots to be one of those light brown pairs in leather, you know? I even have one, but it was SO hard to get the color right... I also had trouble with the blouse she has on her shoulders, my sister just told me it was gray and I was like... "WHAT GRAY??" DX It's NOT goddamn easy to pick a color like that to match all the rest, you know! In the end I tried many shades (and don't even think about that fucking ridiculous book) and decided this one should work, even though I'm not sure if I'm entirely satisfied :< Oh well, whatever. No background as well because basic picture, I got no inspiration/time and I just wanted to get this done for once

Aaaand... I guess that's it!
